REPLICA Bubble Bath is a unisex eau de toilette by Maison Margiela, launched in 2020 in the Replica collection and composed by Violaine Collas. The memory of a bubble bath in Beverly Hills in 2005, this floral chypre brings together a soap bubbles accord, pink pepper and bergamot, a heart of lavender, rose and jasmine, and a base of patchouli, coconut milk and white musks.
Maison Margiela divides Bubble Bath into three tiers: a soap bubbles accord, pink pepper essence and bergamot essence in the top; a lavender flower accord, rose superessence and jasmine absolute in the heart; patchouli essence, a coconut milk accord and white musks in the base.
The soap bubbles accord, the perfumer’s own creation, recreates the clean freshness of the foam and plays the leading role in evoking the bath. The rose superessence is drawn from rose concrete by hydrodistillation. The coconut milk accord starts from a headspace capture, which the perfumer then rebuilt with her own palette of materials.
What the label declares
The list published by the house opens with alcohol, fragrance and water. It declares two UV filters, benzyl alcohol and regulated allergens, among them benzyl salicylate, limonene, linalool, citronellol, geraniol, coumarin, citral and benzyl benzoate, as well as two colorants, green and violet.
