Petit Matin is an eau de parfum from Maison Francis Kurkdjian, launched in 2016 as a duo with Grand Soir and composed by Francis Kurkdjian. A citrus musk, it evokes dawn in a still-deserted Paris: the energy of litsea cubeba and Calabrian lemon, the floral softness of hawthorn, Provençal lavandin and orange blossom, and finally a maze of musky notes.

Where to buy

Maison Francis Kurkdjian, which belongs to the LVMH group, introduced Petit Matin in the fall of 2016, alongside Grand Soir. The two eaux de parfum form a duo conceived as a Parisian day, from dawn to night, and reached stores in September.

Francis Kurkdjian says he lives to the rhythm of an enchanting, luminous Paris, from the freshness of an early morning to the radiance of a grand evening. Those moments, he says, inspired two perfumes to be experienced as an olfactory getaway in the City of Light.

Petit Matin is sold today in thirty-five, seventy and two hundred milliliters, and in a set of three eleven-milliliter sprays. The house pairs it with a scented candle, Pour le Matin, and offers it as a duo with its travel spray.

What the house says

The house tells of rising at dawn, the freshness of a Parisian morning and a rediscovered taste for beautiful things: a stroll through the streets and under the still-empty arcades of a Paris in chiaroscuro.

It presents Petit Matin as a luminous, radiant eau de parfum, made to launch into a hectic day ahead, and ranks it among its citrus musky perfumes. At its launch, it intended it for men and women alike.

What critics say

Luke Singleton, writing for Wylde Magazine, sees Petit Matin as an aromatic green of bracing freshness, to wear first thing in the morning, whose ambroxan tempers the sweetness of the citrus with a musky, powdery depth.
