It all began with Pierre Berdoues, then a hairdresser and barber. Ambitious and passionate about scents, he decided to craft his own Eau de Cologne to perfect his clients' shaves. Success was immediate. Thus Pierre Berdoues spent 55 years in his factory making other fragrances. He was later succeeded by his sons and his granddaughter, Sophie Berdoues, who currently embodies the fourth generation of perfumers at the head of this great French house. It was she who had the idea of creating the 1902 collection, as a tribute to her grandfather. As the house of Berdoues came into being thanks to an Eau de Cologne, each of the essences making up this lineup evokes the scent of those very particular juices.
