Woods beneath the cherry, for Bois de Jasmin

In February 2019, Victoria Frolova gave Lost Cherry four stars out of five. She reads it less as a fruit than as a sophisticated blend of woods, in the line of Serge Lutens’s Féminité du Bois, in which the tart cherry of the opening darkens almost at once into woods and burnished spices.

Rose, jasmine, sandalwood and a salty vetiver, in her view, balance the gourmand decadence of the fruit. She finds the fragrance well built, considers its high price justified here, and still suggests alternatives from Serge Lutens.

A gourmand chypre, for ÇaFleurBon

For Ida Meister, in November 2018, Lost Cherry ends a long stretch without a crush at Tom Ford, despite a name she considers unfortunate. She praises Louise Turner’s griotte syrup, less candied than one might fear, and describes a gourmand chypre full of charm and elegance.

A guilty pleasure, for Persolaise

Persolaise discovered the fragrance in 2021 and confesses to being won over. The cherry note, designed in his view to come across as vulgar and juvenile, touches on guilty pleasures; he finds the contrast between this loud fruit, the bitter almond and the balsamic base commendable.
