Vanilla Sex

Tom Ford launched Vanilla Sex in December 2023 in its Private Blend collection, in 30 and 50 ml. The house presents it as a vanilla that is anything but ordinary, addictive by nature and glamorous by design, and keeps it far from the innocence the ingredient usually suggests.

The name plays on the English expression for unadventurous sex. Tom Ford sets against it a vanilla it calls maximalist, whose expected sweetness it says is dispelled by sandalwood and orris.

Three vanillas

The house brings together three vanillas: a CO2 vanilla extract, a darker vanilla absolute and an India vanilla tincture created for Vanilla Sex, which it describes as softly sensual. Ultravanil, a synthetic molecule, and tonka bean absolute extend the accord over a sandalwood base.
