Olfastory’s review

A bottle that instantly evokes the beaches of Capri

Since the bottle is the first thing one discovers when treating oneself to a fragrance, let us begin by examining it in more detail. Tinted blue, the glass bottle of Light Blue Femme Italian Love by Dolce & Gabbana evokes the tranquility of the Mediterranean Sea. However, this blue is darker than before. It seems to come from deeper waters. Indeed, Capri is a steep island surrounded by significant marine depths. Its white cap, for its part, lends it a very sun-kissed note. What is more, blue and white are also present on the packaging of Light Blue Femme Italian Love. They form stripes, like those found on the many beach huts, parasols and sun loungers in the coves of Capri. The setting is established right away. The change of scenery is total. With a single glance, we find ourselves in Capri…

Bianca Balti and David Gandy, an appealing couple embodying the fragrance Light Blue Femme Italian Love

To accompany its new fragrance, the house Dolce & Gabbana has already devised an advertisement. Summer 2022 marks a new turning point in the campaign for the Light Blue collection. This time, the couple formed by Bianca Balti and David Gandy come together in the enchanting setting of Capri. Thus, this fragrance shows real coherence between the visual of its bottle and its marketing campaign. The two young people let us take part in their budding love story, in the idyllic setting of this Mediterranean island. The result is a campaign full of tenderness, a promise of eternal love. The setting, for its part, wonderfully highlights the beauty of the Italian summer and la Dolce Vita.

Light Blue Femme Italian Love, a fresh, floral, sun-kissed creation

From then on, we are eager to discover the scent of the fragrance Light Blue Femme Italian Love. Here too, the coherence is absolute. Olivier Cresp truly drew inspiration from various characteristics of the island of Capri to imagine his formula. He first relied on lemon to freshen up the top notes. Indeed, what could be more evocative than the vast citrus groves of the Sicilian region? The crisp green apple, for its part, lends the whole a vibrant freshness, like that of sea spray sweeping across skin. The femininity and romanticism of this fragrance are highlighted by a duo of rose and jasmine. Then, little by little, this composition becomes warmer and woodier. The whole concludes in an enveloping cloud of Virginia cedar, white musks, sandalwood and amber.
