L'Envol Eau de Parfum

On the Cartier perfumery side, men had been growing impatient for some time. Indeed, since the launch of Roadster in 2008, there had been no real novelties for men within the house.

A refillable ampoule under a detachable glass dome, cap with a guilloché pattern, offered in 30 ml refills.

The bottle is made up of two pieces. An elongated glass capsule, fitted with a spray, holds the fragrance; it slides into an outer glass dome from which it can be removed to be carried on its own. Cartier states that the perfume is suspended within this bottle and that the 100 ml size is refillable.

The cap echoes the guilloché pattern of Cartier's stylistic tradition, which the house describes as famous. The upper silvered button bears a guilloché pattern described as inherited from the house's watchmaking heritage, and screws down while extending to cover the spray and prevent accidental spraying. An additional source places this engraved guilloché pattern on the cover. The dome is presented as a demonstration of the house's glassmaking expertise; beyond the guilloché motif, the connection to an earlier Cartier bottle is not established.

At launch in the United Kingdom, the eau de parfum was offered in 50 ml at £64, 80 ml at £84 and 100 ml at £97.
