She does not merely compose magnificent perfumes; she takes part in every stage of their creation, which not only allows for fragrances with complete coherence but also lets her offer her rich, dreamlike universe through every aspect of her perfumes.
I create the perfumes, but I also take part in developing their story, in choosing the name, in developing the packaging and in training the sales advisors. Olfactory expertise does not stop at the perfume. Mathilde Laurent on her work within the house of Cartier. And the least one can say is that, with the brilliant story of L'Envol, Mathilde Laurent offered us the finest of her journeys!
L'Envol is meant as a tribute to the Cartier brothers' passion for aviation and to their fine friendship with the legendary Alberto Santos Dumont, for whom the house had already created a perfume bearing his name in 1981. It will therefore propel us into a hazy cloud that keeps shifting with the winds, the better to carry upward men with a conquering spirit, eager for freedom and olfactory discoveries.

As mentioned, Mathilde Laurent shies away from no novelty or originality when composing perfumes. Trusting her intuition, she composed with L'Envol one of the rare men's perfumes to present powdery violet scents, which, far from being feminine, are rather a distinctive mark of refinement and audacity. The audacity needed to take L'Envol, of course!
