For many women, the Sisley brand is a benchmark in high-end skincare. However, the house's expertise does not stop there. Since its founding in 1976, Sisley has had a gift for transporting us into dreamlike settings through sumptuous perfumes. These are conceived as waking dreams and send the imagination traveling with a single breath. In 2023, Sisley's olfactory range is enriched with a new line of unisex fragrances: the Eaux Rêvées de Sisley, including L'Eau Rêvée d'Eliya, with its tropical jungle allure.
The house of Sisley was founded in 1976 by the couple Isabelle and Hubert d'Ornano. Since then, and although it has risen to the highest ranks of global luxury, Sisley has never forgotten its origins and its family dimension. As such, the house never misses an opportunity to reveal part of its very personal history. This is how the Eaux Rêvées de Sisley came to be designed. L'Eau Rêvée d'Eliya by Sisley is part of this assemblage of unisex perfumes. Here is our review.
Olfastory’s review
The Eaux Rêvées de Sisley, an intriguing and diverse collection
The Eaux Rêvées de Sisley all share the trait of immersing us in the very personal anecdotes of the d'Ornano family. Each of the juices that make it up resembles a memory of one of the members of this clan. On the other hand, all the creations contained in this assortment are very different from one another. For instance, L'Eau Rêvée d'Hubert by Sisley pays tribute to Hubert d'Ornano and takes us to the heart of Egypt. Conversely, L'Eau Rêvée d'Ikar is a nod to the myth of Icarus and has a warm scent tied to the Corsican terroir. L'Eau Rêvée d'Eliya, for its part, is more tropical. Thus, the unisex perfumes of the Eaux Rêvées de Sisley have what it takes to satisfy every desire and every personality.
L'Eau Rêvée d'Eliya, a suave and contrasted creation
L'Eau Rêvée d'Eliya by Sisley wins us over with its ambivalence. Far from going for simplicity, it is a floral perfume that blows both hot and cold. More concretely, this juice draws on the tropical forest, coming back to life after being swept by a warm and generous rain. The result is a perfume with a very lively opening, combining exotic flowers with bergamot and lemon. The generosity of L'Eau Rêvée d'Eliya by Sisley then shows through in its heart. This contains jasmine, tuberose and violet. Yet, despite its very floral character, this juice is perfectly balanced, so as to suit men and women alike. As proof, it ends on a much darker and more persistent base. Its base notes contain cedar, patchouli and ambrette.
A design created by a duo well known to Sisley
Finally, aesthetically speaking, L'Eau Rêvée d'Eliya is also a clear success. It must be said that, to design its bottle and packaging, Sisley took no risks. The house called on two Polish artists, who had already collaborated with it many times before. Bronislaw Krzysztof thus had every opportunity to design the glass case of the Eaux Rêvées de Sisley collection. He imagined a minimalist, transparent cylinder topped with a much more asymmetrical block of ice. Each of the Eaux Rêvées de Sisley has its own color. For L'Eau Rêvée d'Eliya, it is purple. This perfume's cardboard box is also embellished by Elzbieta Radziwill, a painter who here drew a very colorful hummingbird, as if straight out of the tropical jungle.
