Le Sel d’Issey is the men’s eau de toilette Issey Miyake launched in 2024, composed by Quentin Bisch of Givaudan. Around salt, which has no smell, it sets a marine pole, a salty accord, laminaria seaweed, oakmoss and ginger, against a woody pole of vetiver and cedar, in a bottle by Tokujin Yoshioka.
An elliptical bottle by Tokujin Yoshioka, transparent, with a solid glass base that refracts light, topped with a chrome metal cap.
The bottle is signed by Tokujin Yoshioka, a designer born in 1967 who trained under Shiro Kuramata and Issey Miyake. Elliptical in shape, it tapers its curves toward the base and wears a chrome metal cap that catches the light; the house wants it to evoke movement rather than form.
Designboom describes an oval base in solid glass, like a block of salt or a geode, through which light passes through the juice and projects circles of light. According to Sharp Magazine, the glass contains up to 20% recycled material, and Le Sel d’Issey introduces the refillable bottle to the brand’s men’s fragrances.
