Le Beau, an eau de toilette launched in 2019, is the Le Male offshoot that Jean Paul Gaultier pairs with La Belle in his Garden of Eden tale. Quentin Bisch and Sonia Constant built it on tonka bean and coconut wood, brightened by bergamot. The bottle takes up the line’s muscular torso, dressed only in a golden vine leaf.
Le Beau comes down to three materials: bergamot in the top, coconut wood in the heart, tonka bean in the base. The house places tonka bean, which it calls addictive, and coconut wood at the center of the fragrance, and pairs them with the freshness of bergamot.
Bergamot
Bergamot gives the opening its citrus note and the freshness the house claims for Le Beau. It contrasts with the softness of the two materials that carry the rest of the composition.
Coconut wood
Coconut wood, which the house sets at the center of the fragrance with tonka bean, occupies its heart and brings a woody, sweet note. It gives Le Beau its exotic color, that of the garden of temptation where the house sets the couple.
Tonka bean
The base rests on tonka bean, addictive in the house’s words. Its warmth, reminiscent of vanilla, extends the softness of coconut wood and gives the fragrance its sensuality.
