For once, it was perfumer Danièla Andrier who created the composition La Femme Prada, l'Eau. She was also the one who had imagined La Femme et l'Homme Prada. A perfumer for the Givaudan company, Danièla Andrier created the majority of Prada's perfumes. Born in Germany, Danièla Andrier had first turned toward literary studies… When asked what her favorite raw material is, Danièla Andrier answers that she loves all natural raw materials, without exception, and that she adores iris and galbanum, which touch her particularly, adding that she indeed has a hard time doing without iris, even in very small amounts, as it is always there. For her, a perfume is far from being a useless luxury, as it gives poetry, depth to the past, olfactorily and emotionally supporting our memory… it is a guiding thread. Danièla Andrier is responsible for major successes such as Prada Candy, Infusion d'Iris by Prada, but also Angélique Noire by Guerlain.
La Femme Prada, l'Eau, tuberose revisited
La Femme Prada, l'Eau opens with the tangy notes of mandarin combined with the sweet notes of frangipani. Also called the temple flower, frangipani flower carries a very important symbolism among Hindus and Buddhists. Native to Central America, frangipani is mainly grown in Réunion Island. Frangipani is among the most beautiful tropical trees, colored pink, white or yellow. Its name comes from that of an Italian, Frangipani, who in the twelfth century created a highly appreciated perfume with notes of crushed almonds. When the tree was discovered in the Caribbean, its scent, comparable to this famous perfume, earned it the name frangipani.
In perfumery, frangipani gives off sweet, soft and very floral tonalities. The heart of La Femme Prada, l'Eau is as floral as it is luminous and combines ylang-ylang with tuberose. Native to Southeast Asia, ylang-ylang is a tree bearing large, star-shaped yellow flowers. In perfumery, ylang-ylang offers tonalities that are at once very floral, jasmine-like and sweet. Finally, the base of La Femme Prada, l'Eau offers an accord of woody notes. The bottle is similar to that of its predecessor. However, it plays on two facets. With an almost architectural shape, the bottle reflects light and lets us glimpse its precious nectar of amber-golden color.
