The composition of Hanae is built around Madagascar jasmine. This is a climbing plant native to the forest of Madagascar. Madagascar jasmine flowers grow in the undergrowth of Asia, Madagascar, and Africa. Its flowers form in clusters of 5 to 7 blooms. Tubular and white, the flowers have 5 pointed lobes arranged in a star shape. Madagascar jasmine needs a great deal of sunlight. Since it is a tropical flower, it must never be allowed to drop below 15°. Also known as stephanotis, Madagascar jasmine is in fact a wonderful houseplant. Madagascar jasmine offers a unique scent, very heady, luminous, and highly floral.
Hanae, an irresistible gourmand floral fragrance
Hanae opens with sparkling notes and an unexpected pairing of orange blossom, bergamot, and red apple. Orange blossom is the flower of the bitter orange tree, a thorny shrub with highly fragrant white flowers. Called golden apples in mythology, oranges were presented by Jupiter to Juno on their wedding day. In antiquity, orange blossom symbolized purity and was used to make bridal crowns. Today, orange blossom production comes mainly from countries around the Mediterranean: Tunisia, Algeria, southern France, and Morocco. In perfumery, orange blossom gives off jasmine-like, floral, and honeyed tones. Then, the heart of Hanae is composed of Madagascar jasmine, rose tea, wild strawberry, and blackcurrant, for a most gourmand effect. The base of Hanae continues along the path of gourmand character combined with highly sensual tones, pairing Siam benzoin, patchouli, sandalwood, white cedar, vanilla, and caramel. Benzoin is a resin from the styrax tree, which can grow up to 35 meters tall. Benzoin has long been used by indigenous tribes for its antiseptic and healing properties. Benzoin grows in its pure state in Laos, Thailand, and northern Vietnam. Sober and slender, the bottle of Hanae lets the pale pink color of the nectar show through, giving it a most romantic look.
