In 1977, Hanae Mori became the first Asian woman to be admitted as a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in Paris. Her style harmoniously blends East and West. Her first perfume, Butterfly, is an emblematic fragrance of the house. HM, released in 1997, is a fresh and intense fragrance.

The poetic world of Hanae Mori

With each of her perfumes, Hanae Mori draws one into a poetic and bucolic world. With her first fragrance, Hanae Mori Butterfly, she evokes the entire world of nature and the forest, with the butterfly, now famous, that shaped her childhood. This butterfly brought her lightness and guided her creativity. HM is a genuine olfactory discovery, one that also evokes poetry. HM reveals a beautiful sunny morning in the countryside. Ever-changing nature is omnipresent in this first masculine perfume. It is a perfect blend of singular, refined and magnetic essences. Resolutely modern, the contrasted notes of HM come from rare and refined ingredients. HM is intended for men in search of value and exclusivity.

The singular and refined notes of HM

True to her avant-garde aspirations, Hanae Mori sought to create a perfect harmony between elegance and restraint while respecting Japanese tradition. HM opens on fresh yet ultra sparkling notes of lemon. These are soon joined by lavender and mint, adding a further touch of freshness. The heart is magnificently floral, with iris, jasmine, lily of the valley and Bulgarian rose, flowers rarely used in masculine perfumery. The base of HM is elegant and charismatic. It is composed of sandalwood, vanilla, oakmoss, amber and tonka bean… A base that wraps the whole in a gentle sensuality. As for the bottle, it is understated, clean and authentic. Elegance is ultra present here, echoing the composition. The cap is inspired by the Tsuka, the end of a samurai sword's handle. On it, HM is engraved, in the pure tradition of the Kamon (Japanese heraldry).

For her first masculine perfume, Hanae Mori plays the card of elegance and restraint. Rare, refined ingredients carry one toward a very fresh world. HM is intended for men in search of value and beauty. The bottle is carefully designed and rich in symbolism. An out-of-the-ordinary perfume.
