Where to buy

This is indeed how the iconic fragrance l’Eau d’Issey was built. Once again, for Fusion d’Issey, Issey Miyake decided to pay tribute to nature. This particularly rich fragrance travels the world and is enriched with multiple facets along its journey. The result is a particularly contrasted, masculine and modern composition.

The futuristic bottle of Fusion d’Issey by Issey Miyake

Let us first discover the container of this new fragrance. Fusion d’Issey is available in two sizes, 50 or 100 ml. Its container takes on a very masculine and futuristic look, without straying from the previous men's fragrances by Issey Miyake. Here, an imposing glass base dominates, topped by an opaque, square cap. However, a few details differ from before… The contours of its glass base have been slightly rounded and softened. This bottle has traded its transparency for a darker, more masculine blue-gray. The name of this fragrance, Fusion d’Issey by Issey Miyake, appears in electric orange lettering, as if to embody all the energy it contains. Finally, on the cap, its smooth surfaces have been replaced by multiple cut facets that play with light, like a stone carved straight from rock. In an opaque black shade, this cap gives the whole a novel and contemporary look.

Fusion d’Issey by Issey Miyake, a very rich tribute to nature

But what about the scent of this fragrance? Created by perfumer Nathalie Lorson, Fusion d’Issey pays tribute to nature. Entirely devoted to the earth, it invites one to discover the world. It seems to hold within it all the power and diversity of an untouched, pristine nature. More specifically, it is described as a mineral fragrance, a rich fougère with multiple facets, combining cold notes with warmer facets.
Everything begins with a very fruity accord. Coconut water is here flavored with sweet, gourmand fig and more refreshing, zesty lemon. Its heart, meanwhile, softens with sandalwood. Rosemary and geranium give it a more elegant and aromatic facet. Eucalyptus and cardamom bring freshness, while nutmeg warms it with its spicy character. Fusion d’Issey by Issey Miyake explores all olfactory territories at once. Gradually, virility gains ground. Patchouli structures the whole and gives it more persistence. Finally, Fusion d’Issey by Issey Miyake ends with a duo of Ambroxan and salicylate. Particularly surprising, this fragrance follows no trend and creates its own path. Thus, it fits fully within the creative and unconventional world of designer Issey Miyake. So, why not follow it on its wild journey at the heart of nature?

The advertising

Even though synthetic compounds have gradually made their appearance in the world of perfumery, it must be acknowledged that nothing is more inspiring than natural raw materials. It is therefore often toward nature that perfumers turn to find new ideas and create their compositions. This is how designer Issey Miyake works. For him, water is both a source of life and the source of his greatest fragrances. Drawing inspiration from water, and following it through its many journeys, he gives it different scents. This time, this is how he brought Fusion d’Issey to life. Here, water comes into contact with molten earth, for a result that is both fresh and spicy, infinitely contrasted. Naturally, all of this is already accompanied by an advertisement. Let us look in more detail at what these images show…

Fusion d’Issey in a singular and minimalist advertisement

While most major perfumers call on world-famous faces to embody the image of their fragrance, Issey Miyake chose to turn to natural elements, or simply the perfume bottle itself, to create his new advertising campaign. It all begins with the vision of a salt desert, on which the name of Issey Miyake and Fusion d’Issey appears. Quickly, this white expanse reveals a black stone, strangely floating in the air. Before our eyes, it explodes, in a bluish cloud, echoing the color of this fragrance. Everything then transforms into clear water, falling onto the salt, instantly transforming it. This white surface becomes darker, like cooled lava. It all cracks before our eyes, as water and molten lava burst forth from every direction. The entire scene unfolds to the sound of drums, whose deep bass gives the whole a very African feel. At the end of this campaign, the hashtag #BornFromFusion appears. There is no doubt: this new fragrance truly seems to be born from the fusion of different natural elements.

The Fusion d’Issey fragrance, a long-lasting, virile and contrasted juice

This advertisement immediately makes one want to learn more about this fragrance. As a reminder, it is a particularly contrasted fragrance, blending the freshness of spices and fruit with the warmth of woodier, more resinous notes. It all begins with a blend of lemon, fig and coconut nectar. Then, the heart of Fusion d’Issey turns spicy with nutmeg, geranium, cardamom, eucalyptus and rosemary. These woody notes appear a little later. Its base brings together patchouli and Ambroxan. All of this comes in an imposing and very masculine bottle, whose bluish glass is topped with a black cap, as if carved straight from rock. One could almost believe it to be the small black stone that appears at the beginning of this advertisement…
