Portrait of a Lady is an eau de parfum by Frédéric Malle, composed by Dominique Ropion and launched in 2010. The house sets a Turkish rose in a boundless quantity, magnified by woods, amber and incense, and says it redraws the chypre family with it. The fragrance entered the Fragrance Hall of Fame in 2026.
The house bottle: a rectangular glass topped with a black cap, the cream label bearing Dominique Ropion’s name and the title in red capitals.
Portrait of a Lady comes in the bottle of the Éditions de Parfums: a clear rectangular glass with flat shoulders, topped with a tall black cap. The cream label bears, in handwritten script, Dominique Ropion’s name, the title in red capitals and the name of Frédéric Malle.
For the fragrance’s fifteenth anniversary, in 2025, the house dressed this bottle in red lacquer, its signature color, in a limited edition.
