What the house declares

Guerlain describes a floral bouquet by moonlight. Tuberose gains in sensuality alongside a four o’clock flower accord, while the warmth of sandalwood and the woody refinement of patchouli give the fragrance its depth.

To render the opulence of flowers under the moon, Delphine Jelk devised this four o’clock flower accord, tinged with rose and ylang-ylang and carried by wisps of incense. Tuberose reveals its most carnal facets alongside a velvety mango accord.

Three tiers

The house’s texts break the fragrance into three stages: incense, mandarin and mango accord in the top; four o’clock flower accord, centifolia rose, tuberose and ylang-ylang in the heart; moss, patchouli, sandalwood and coconut extract in the base.

The moss does not appear as a material: the ingredient list Guerlain publishes declares neither oakmoss nor tree moss. The four o’clock flower, whose blossoms open at dusk, is likewise rendered by an accord.

What the label declares

The list Guerlain publishes places, after alcohol, fragrance and water, ylang-ylang oil (Cananga odorata), rose oil, patchouli oil (Pogostemon cablin), linalool, limonene, alpha-isomethyl ionone and methyl anthranilate.

It also shows bitter orange peel oil, coumarin, a UV filter, eugenol, sandalwood (Santalum album) oil and santalol, benzaldehyde, isoeugenol, benzyl salicylate, farnesol, geraniol, citral and methyl salicylate, with a violet colorant and, depending on the batch, a red one.
