The revival of Balmain

A company several decades old, the house of Balmain experienced a genuine revival in the early 2000s. Indeed, Christophe Decarnin took over the creative direction of the brand in 2006 and gave it a more contemporary face than before. This second wind stirred up the women's collections just as much as the men's collections of the house. Thanks to him, Balmain men became sexier, more rock 'n' roll and more virile. Carbone is an ambiguous and extravagant perfume, fond above all of playing with provocation. Nevertheless, make no mistake, it does not forget the authentic values of the house of Balmain. The very assertive character of Carbone

Carbone is a woody and spicy juice created by perfumer Nathalie Lorson. It opens with a green and spicy combination. Carbone contains Ivy, a crisp green plant, Elemi, a cold spice, and Bourbon pepper. Then, its heart clearly plays on intensity. It combines sun-drenched fruity Blackberry with the rich, spellbinding presence of Incense. In this instance, it is precisely this aspect that echoes the black color of Carbone. The whole then rests on a more intense and sensual base. It combines Siam Benzoin, Vetiver and Musk. Finally, a Vanilla pod further completes this composition. However, it should be noted that it is not treated in the usual sweet manner. Here it takes on its darkest guise, the better to echo Carbone. In terms of design, this juice is housed in Balmain's emblematic bottle. It consists of heavy, thick glass, resolutely masculine. It is a solid glass block with a sturdy base. Fully transparent, it reveals a golden, amber juice. Its geometric lines are then topped with an opaque black cabochon. This clearly displays the virility of this perfume and seems almost carved from carbon itself.
