Velvet Amber Sage joins Dolce & Gabbana’s Velvet collection in 2026, as an Eau de Parfum. The house builds it around the contrast between amber and sage, a Mediterranean herb prized since Roman antiquity. Praline and cinnamon bark fill its heart, roasted tonka bean and cedar its base.
Velvet Amber Sage sets two poles against each other: clary sage, herbal and slightly fruity, and amber, which gives the base its balsamic roundness. The house makes this contrast between gold and green the thread of the composition.

Clary sage opens the fragrance. Herbal, with a hint of fruitiness, it already carries an ambery facet that ties it to the base and announces the dialogue the house places at the center of the composition.
Heart
Praline and cinnamon bark fill the heart. The first brings a toasted sweetness, between caramelized sugar and almond; the second a dry, biting warmth, sharper than ground cinnamon.
Base
Roasted tonka bean and cedar form an enveloping base, which the house calls creamy. Amber rounds it out, while the woody dryness of the cedar keeps the gourmand accord from turning syrupy.
What the label declares
The ingredient list published by the house mentions Virginia cedar oil, bergamot oil, bitter orange oil and clove oil. Sclareol, a constituent of clary sage, also appears, along with coumarin and vanillin.
What stays outside
Before the release, praline was announced in the top and tonka bean in the heart; the house’s page moves each of them down one tier. Amber, which the house places in no tier, stays in the base, as in the initial announcement.
