Bois d’Amande joined Van Cleef & Arpels’ Collection Extraordinaire in 2020, the line the house has devoted to precious woods since 2009. Sidonie Lancesseur composed it as a woody amber eau de parfum built around Virginia cedar, softened by almond and extended by musk and vanilla. The perfumer says she had almond trees under the Italian sun in mind.
Lemon essence opens the composition with an almond accord. Virginia cedar holds the heart, and the base pairs musk with vanilla. These are the tiers the house publishes for the version sold today.
Cedar is the material that structures the fragrance, AFP-Relaxnews reports: its woody notes mingle with powdery almond and vanilla, over an indulgent base of musk and vanilla. The house speaks of a wood whose warm, mellow aromas recall the softness of almond.
