Atelier des Fleurs Cedrus

Cedrus is the wood of the Atelier des Fleurs, the haute parfumerie collection Chloé opened in 2019 with six perfumers. Quentin Bisch placed in it the memory of a bouquet of branches his father had given his mother: cardamom, bergamot and pink peppercorns in the opening, rose and cassia at the center, a trio of cedar, vetiver and sandalwood in the base.

Pleated glass, an ivory cap that seems carved from stone, collar and label edging strewn with gold: the bottle of the whole line.

Chloé dresses the eaux of the Atelier des Fleurs in the pleated glass bottle of the collection, a transposition of the sunray pleating that serves as the house signature. The cap seems carved from stone — ivory in the launch description, sand-colored on today’s pages, where the house reads in it a tribute to the Mediterranean roots of Gaby Aghion. Touches of gold run along the collar and the edging of the beige label.

The stance refers back to clothing: the house says it looks there for the fluidity of its own lines, rendered in glass rather than in fabric.

Cedrus has received presentations of its own. The French artist Anne-Sophie Barlet painted the pleated glass with a green, beige and brown watercolor evoking the needles and branches of the cedar, for a limited edition of 50 ml with a sand-colored cap. The Anne-Sophie Barlet studio also signed a summer bandana motif, printed on the boxes and sleeves of the collection.
