The new 2019 release Amor Amor from Cacharel Love is a recurring theme in perfumery. Some fragrances are like declarations, playing in the register of romance.
With Anaïs Anaïs, the house of Cacharel had already shown, from the late 1970s, that it understood the desires of young women caught between floral romance and budding sensuality.
From bottle to bottle, Cacharel’s young women have grown up but have also managed to evolve with a certain modernity, notably with the beautiful 2003 creation Amor Amor. Amor Amor was created by Dominique Ropion and Laurent Bruyère to offer the young women of the new millennium a fragrance that would capture both rich, intense gourmand qualities and a tangy freshness that would find, in the sensual depths of the bottle, a contrasting yet ultimately highly complementary echo. In fact, Dominique Ropion does not hesitate to say that it was his own daughter, seventeen years old at the time, who inspired this gourmand juice, strong in character! Indeed, he used the grenadine and candy apple accord that he smelled on her, while making the rather radical choice of pairing it with sharp freshness and sun-kissed flowers, and thus Amor Amor was born.
The success of this fresh gourmand was immediate, and Cacharel chose to offer a new take on this lovely Amor Amor every summer, sometimes leaning into sensuality as with Amor Amor Forbidden Kiss, sometimes playing with fruity notes as with Amor Amor in a Flash or Amor Amor Mon Parfum du Soir.
However, in 2019, with Amor Amor Electric Kiss, the two perfumers behind Amor Amor chose to steer us toward the tangy freshness of the original top notes, heightening their intensity to create an even greater contrast with the sensuality of the depths, hence the sensation of an “electric shock”.
More contrasted than ever, Amor Amor Electric Kiss electrifies summer 2019
For Amor Amor Electric Kiss, there are no tropical notes as seen last year in the lovely Agua Amor Amor, which released a coconut and rum accord to offer a sensuality as fresh as it was intense.
In 2019, Amor Amor Electric Kiss instead chooses to explore another facet of the original bottle: the tangy, sparkling freshness of citrus which, in this opus, is transformed into an opening that remains just as fresh but is built with notes of rhubarb and pink pepper, at once icy yet also slightly sweet and green. At the heart, sambac jasmine and rose offer a floral, highly feminine splendor, adding a touch of classicism to this beautiful gourmand. Finally, amber woods and patchouli bring to this fresh, tangy juice a gust of opposing forces that perfectly symbolize the complex personality of today’s young woman.
