Since Eau d'Hermès in 1951 and its oriental power, so far removed from the fresh waters of the time, the house of Hermès has never stopped creating surprise, all the more so since the house has always chosen perfumers with a unique style, such as Jean-Claude Ellena or Christine Nagel. And it is precisely the latter who surprised us with her Twilly, in an unexpected warm-cold play, as with Twilly Eau Poivrée and its very particular freshness…
Because Twilly Eau Poivrée immediately shows itself to be spicy and does not merely suggest pink pepper or wrap it in citrus, as many current fragrances do. On the contrary, it offers top notes that stand out for their intense, genuinely peppery freshness, which already surprises from the very opening. Then rose turns velvety and brings us back to more classic dimensions of feminine perfumery, which surprises us once again, all the more so as patchouli turns into woody velvet and gives it a new dimension, yet another paradise to discover…
And it is precisely in this constant surprise that lies the whole magic of the olfactory construction of Twilly Eau Poivrée! It resembles no other fragrance, not even its predecessor Twilly, which one might have thought at first glance was merely a variation of it.
