Tuscan Leather is the eau de parfum Tom Ford added in 2007 to his Private Blend collection, a version the house intends as an original take on the classic leather fragrance. Saffron, raspberry and thyme open the composition; olibanum and night jasmine form its heart; leather, black suede and an amber wood hold its base.
Victoria, on Bois de Jasmin, considered Tuscan Leather in 2011 a modern leather, dry and smoky, almost a single accord but remarkably handled; The Candy Perfume Boy, not usually drawn to leathers, came round to it in 2015, won over by its balance of resinous dryness and softness.

On January 11, 2011, Victoria counts Tuscan Leather among her favorite discoveries. Not very complex, almost reduced to a single accord, it handles leather so well that she reaches for it whenever she wants a dark, smoky scent.
The opening blends smoky balsam, leather and amber right away, and that character changes little. To her, the dry, smoky woods dominate, with leather acting as the pivot between the rough woody amber, the balsams and the incense, which gives the fragrance an androgynous character.
She recommends it to fans of L’Artisan Parfumeur’s Timbuktu, Bulgari Black and Comme des Garçons Tea, and finds it elegant, from day into evening. She gives it four stars out of five.
The Candy Perfume Boy, January 2015
