Sumgyeol (숨결) is a unisex extrait de parfum from the Korean house The Eighth Room, released in May 2026 in its first series of four fragrances. It evokes the queen's breath as she faces the king. Korean cherry, a silk note and Iso E Super lead to peony, orchid, apricot blossom and amber, over a base of red musk and ambrette seed.

Top notes

The opening combines Korean cherry, a silk note and Iso E Super. The cherry brings a tangy fruit, the silk an impression of softness to the touch, and the Iso E Super a velvety woody veil that wraps around these first two touches.

Heart notes

Peony, orchid, apricot blossom and amber form the heart. This bouquet of rosy, fruity flowers gains an amber warmth that the house places at this very tier, rather than in the base.

Base notes

The base is limited to red musk and ambrette seed. These two musky materials give the accord its skin-like softness, with the ambrette seed adding a slightly fruity nuance; they justify Sumgyeol's classification among the musky fragrances.
