Sumgyeol (숨결)

Sumgyeol (숨결) is a unisex extrait de parfum from the Korean house The Eighth Room, released in May 2026 in its first series of four fragrances. It evokes the queen's breath as she faces the king. Korean cherry, a silk note and Iso E Super lead to peony, orchid, apricot blossom and amber, over a base of red musk and ambrette seed.

Where to buy

A Korean niche perfume house from Seoul, The Eighth Room made its debut in May 2026. It builds its range on eight themes drawn from life at the Joseon court, from the palace pavilions to an eighth room reserved for a single being.

Sumgyeol, “the breath”, carries the subtitle “The Queen's Breath”. The house sees it as the moment when the queen faces the king: a presence more eloquent than words, a dignity that expresses itself without noise and draws the bond between them closer.

Sumgyeol is sold on the house's website as a 75 ml extrait de parfum at 210,000 wons, as well as an 8 ml miniature at 39,000 wons; it is also included in the “A King's Day” discovery set.

What is still missing

No perfumer is named by the house, which does not state an olfactory family. The bottle is described only by its 75 ml and 8 ml sizes.
