Sports Car Club is a unisex Eau de Parfum launched in 2022 by Penhaligon’s, created by Annick Ménardo. Belonging to the green aromatic family, it evokes the imagery of motor racing — champagne, checkered flags, speed — through an accord of arolla pine, cypress and eucalyptus, heightened by pink pepper. The perfumer stated that she chose pink pepper to evoke the vibration and speed of a race car.
Pine, resinous and woody, stands alongside pink pepper in the top notes, spicy and sweet: the resin of one and the spicy sweetness of the other run side by side without meeting.
Cypress, fresh and camphoraceous, joins eucalyptus in the heart, minty and fresh, two notes that share the same freshness.
Patchouli, earthy and damp, ambroxan, ambery and animalic, and musk, animalic and warm, anchor the base; the animalic quality of ambroxan and that of musk answer each other, while the earthiness of patchouli stands alone on its side.
