Soleil Blanc

Tom Ford classes Soleil Blanc among the solar floral ambers. The house currently lists six elements without assigning them to tiers: bergamot, a cardamom oil, a pistachio accord, Comoros ylang-ylang, a benzoin extract and a coco de mer accord.

The declared materials

Bergamot and cardamom brighten the opening, and the pistachio accord adds a round, creamy nutty note. Comoros ylang-ylang, a yellow flower with a sunny, creamy scent, carries the floral side of the composition.

The cardamom and benzoin bear the Orpur label, the name of Givaudan’s range of natural materials. Benzoin, a resin with vanilla accents, and the coco de mer accord, named after the giant nut of a Seychelles palm, give the base its creamy softness.

The launch notes

At its launch, the house announced a more detailed composition: cardamom, pink pepper, bergamot and pistachio at the top; ylang-ylang, Egyptian jasmine and tuberose at the heart; amber and tonka bean at the base, with an icy coconut milk as a finishing touch.

Pink pepper, jasmine, tuberose, amber and tonka bean no longer appear in the current description, and the house has announced no reformulation.

What the label declares

After alcohol, fragrance and water, the label lists fifteen allergens, from limonene to isoeugenol, among them benzyl salicylate, coumarin, farnesol and cinnamyl alcohol, along with one antioxidant, tocopherol.
