The fragrance of silence according to Jacomo The perfume house Jacomo Paris was created at the initiative of Gérard Courtin in 1965. This man, associated with the greatest producers and perfumers of Grasse, went on to create fragrances that combined French craftsmanship with American modernity, in the image of the very first fragrance released, Chicane, or Eau Cendrée. With Silences, the house of Jacomo renews the oriental genre by bringing more classic flowers to it in order to bring out its beautiful femininity, full of contrasts.

Gérard Courtin, perfume creator at the initiative of the house Jacomo Paris, never hid it: it is indeed New York, the city that never sleeps, from which he drew his inspiration for creating his fragrances. However, although his ideas were particularly innovative, he preferred to turn to traditional French craftsmanship for his olfactory explorations. Chicane and Eau Cendrée are highly representative of this blend between past and present; Silences, released in 1978, would be based on exactly the same criteria.
For the beautiful Silences is nothing like a fragrance that stays quiet — quite the contrary, it is an explosion of sensuality and femininity. It was, moreover, composed by Gérard Goupy, a perfumer accustomed to offering powerful sillages, as seen in the fabulous Climat or the captivating Magie Noire, both fragrances from the house of Lancôme. Silences de Jacomo and its opulent floral and green accords
Silences, like all fragrances from the house of Jacomo, was crafted with a constant concern for the fine quality of the raw materials used. Moreover, the founder of the house has always wished, from the very beginning, to work with flower producers from Grasse in order to obtain the finest scents for his fragrances. A rare thing, Jacomo fragrances have even been manufactured for 35 years in Deauville, France.
Silences opens with a dynamic, green cocktail built around the citrus notes of lemon and bergamot and the sharp, vegetal notes of galbanum. Orange blossom, sweet and so luminous, opens the doors to its absolutely divine heart, where rose, lily of the valley and hyacinth vie in beauty to enchant. A lovely iris comes to add a powdery touch to it all. Finally, cedarwood, sandalwood and oakmoss lend the depths their enigmatic density, while white musks enclose them in a silky cloud.
