REPLICA Sailing Day

The house breaks Sailing Day down into three stages: an aquatic accord, an aldehyde accord and juniper essence at the top; coriander essence, iris absolute and rose super essence at the center; red seaweed essence, an ambergris accord and an amber wood accord at the base.

What the house declares

The aquatic accord is, in its words, a creation of the perfumer: the salty marine freshness of Calone, the airy green notes of the Aqual molecule, the liveliness of aldehydes. Coriander reinforces its drive, with a zesty and slightly spicy signature.

Red seaweed brings a saline and slightly woody freshness, with moss facets, that evokes the plants of the deep sea. Ambergris adds deep, almost animalic notes and inflections of amber woods.

What the label declares

Past alcohol, fragrance and water, the list cites benzyl salicylate, an ultraviolet filter, linalool, benzyl alcohol, limonene, a second filter, geraniol, citronellol, a light stabilizer, citral and benzyl benzoate.

Two colorants tint the juice, a violet, CI 60730, and a blue, CI 42090. No raw material is named: the aquatic accord, the spices, the iris and the depths of the sea remain blended into the generic term fragrance.

What remains outside the declared accord

At its launch, the list relayed by the press also cited red pepper, a salicylate, cedar and an amber wood. The house’s current breakdown keeps neither the pepper nor the cedar; the benzyl salicylate on the label answers the salicylate note of that time.
