Magnetism

Magnetism, like a very particular magnet Escada is a fashion house founded in 1976 by Margaretha Ley and her husband Wolfgang Ley. The name Escada comes from a horse of the same name, on which the couple had placed a bet during their honeymoon.

The house of Escada was founded in 1976 and from its beginnings offered cuts that were as feminine as they were sporty, but always very colorful, very vibrant. In 1990, Escada launched its very first fragrance, named after its founder Margaretha Ley, but it was with Chiffon Sorbet in 1993 that the brand truly exploded in perfumery. Magnetism arrived in 2003, offering new scents as sensual as they were invigorating, paying tribute to the beautiful love story of the house's founders.

Magnetism, or the beautiful story of Escada's founders told through perfume

The haute couture house Escada was founded by an iconic couple: Wolfgang Ley and Margaretha Ley. He was a talented businessman, she a designer who loved airy fabrics and, above all, bright, joyful colors that bring gaiety and charm to every outfit. Between them was a passionate and sincere love story, a story that gave birth to the Escada house and carried it to the height of glory. Unfortunately, like all beautiful stories, this one came to an abrupt end in 1993 with the death of the iconic designer, at a time when the brand was at the peak of its glory, both in its perfumes and its collections.

A few years later, Escada chose to turn to Pierre Bourdon, the specialist in narrative fragrances, to have him write this wonderful love story into an Escada perfume through his fragrant palette. In 2003, Magnetism was born, finally paying tribute to the passionately loving couple who made Escada what it is.
Better still, Magnetism aims to be a magnetic fragrance, of course, but also the fragrance of love, the fragrance of that bond forged from the very first glance.

Its sophisticated, soft and intense fragrance based on rose and sensual vanilla makes it the perfect fragrance to reveal your power of seduction. Escada on Magnetism.

The femininity of rose and fruity gourmand touches for a bewitching Escada Magnetism

To compose this lovely Magnetism, Pierre Bourdon drew inspiration from the unconditional love of Escada's two founders to create a fragrance as airy as it is sensual, one that would beautifully trace the contours of these beautiful stories that belong to the absolute. Moreover, the perfumer enjoys offering rare and original fragrances, and so for Magnetism he did not hesitate to pair modern sweet, gourmand accords with a lovely, more classic rose.

Magnetism opens first on the aromatic pulses of thyme and basil, before settling into sweet blackcurrant accents as well as watery notes of lychee, pineapple and melon. At the heart, rose, jasmine and magnolia offer all the floral sweetness of their beauty, but blend with an opulent heliotrope to gain carnal power. Iris powders these beautiful flowers with its splendor. Finally, the woody notes of patchouli, sandalwood and vetiver lend their sensual depth to Magnetism, where caramel and coconut do not hesitate to stir them up with their exotic, gourmand scents.
