Such is the case of Steve de Mercado. So, even though we did not have the opportunity to meet this talented creator in person, how about learning the few pieces of information we were able to find about him?
Steve de Mercado's beginnings at Givaudan
Steve de Mercado began his career within the Givaudan company. The least that can be said is that he started his professional journey at full speed. Indeed, this Swiss manufacturer of perfumes, flavors and cosmetic active ingredients is one of the largest companies in the world in its sector. To give an idea, Givaudan currently holds 25% of the market share in its sector of activity, which is estimated at more than 4 billion Swiss francs. Likewise, Givaudan currently ranks among the top 30 stock market values in Switzerland. By starting his career this way, Steve de Mercado opened up a royal path for himself and secured creative partnerships with the biggest houses on the planet. This greatly contributed to launching his career.

However, Steve de Mercado did not stay within this company. He eventually joined Symrise. This company was created in 2003 following the merger between Haarmann & Reimer and Dragoco. This German structure is a direct competitor of Givaudan and keeps expanding. Nevertheless, even though Steve de Mercado followed Symrise's colossal development for a few years, he did not make this company his permanent workplace either. He now works for Fragrance Ressources.

Today, Steve de Mercado holds a perfumer position within the Fragrance Ressources team. This company, founded in 1987, has experienced dramatic growth. Specializing in the manufacture of perfumes and flavors, it is now present in several parts of the globe, namely in Germany, North America, France and China. Moreover, since January 2017, it has been acquired by the giant of this sector, IFF. Once again, Steve de Mercado therefore seems to have chosen the path of renown. He has already created many perfumes with worldwide recognition such as Cerutti 1881 pour Femme, Escada Magnetism, Endymion de Penhaligon's… However, there is no doubt that his destiny is far from being set. Steve de Mercado is an ambitious figure. No one yet knows whether his career will continue to unfold within the IFF group. Either way, his talent no longer needs to be proven, and we are already eager to discover what his next universe will be.
