Pacific Chill

Anisic basil, mentholated mint and vivid coriander give Pacific Chill its herbaceous tonality, surrounded by blackcurrant, citrus, carrot and rose. Launched by Louis Vuitton in 2023, this cologne is the work of Jacques Cavallier Belletrud and ends on a sweet base of fig and dates.

Heart

Citron brings its acidic zest, lemon a tangy acidity, orange a sweet freshness. Anisic basil, mentholated mint and vivid coriander with spicy accents join them. Blackcurrant, green and sulfurous, retains a sour edge; carrot and ambrette are powdery, ambery, irisy or musky, and warm rose evokes honey and wax.

Base

Fig and dates form the base. Fig combines sugar with a lactonic greenness, that milky plushness characteristic of the still-green fruit. Dates, sweet, bring warmth and a spicy nuance, that of fruit dried in the sun.

Olfactory family: Aromatic

Classed among the aromatics, the composition owes this character to basil, mint and coriander, culinary herbs and seeds whose essences evoke the green freshness of vegetable gardens. This family readily draws on citrus, here citron, lemon and orange.

What the label declares

Limonene and citral, constituents of citrus essences, echo citron and lemon; linalool is abundant in coriander and basil; geraniol and citronellol belong to rose essence. Alpha-isomethyl ionone recalls iris, coumarin recalls hay, cinnamal recalls cinnamon, eugenol recalls clove.
