La Belle Le Parfum

La Belle, Le Parfum: the new release from Jean-Paul Gaultier. As a child, Jean-Paul Gaultier was often looked after by his grandmother. One day, he discovered a forgotten trunk in which a corset was hidden. It was a revelation! He made it one of the greatest symbols of his house, a fetish object for femmes fatales, to be tied and untied endlessly.

After revolutionizing fashion, Jean-Paul Gaultier decided to devote himself more fully to perfumery. Known for his provocative and often unexpected creations, the one nicknamed the enfant terrible of fashion first chose to imagine a feminine fragrance. This is how Le Classique came about, in 1993, still considered one of the best-sellers in world perfumery. Very often reinvented, Le Classique recently gave rise to a new juice named La Belle, released in 2019. Here again, success was immediate, so much so that Jean-Paul Gaultier delivers a new variation on his exotic breath. Here is our review of La Belle Eau de Parfum Intense, released in 2021.

La Belle Eau de Parfum Intense, a madeleine de Proust inspired by Jean-Paul Gaultier's childhood

La Belle Eau de Parfum Intense is a fragrance that, on its own, delivers all of Jean-Paul Gaultier's love and fascination for femininity. In reality, it all began when he was a child, while he was being looked after by his grandmother. He made a discovery at the back of the attic: a trunk in which a corset was hidden. It was a true revelation! Jean-Paul Gaultier decided to make it a source of inspiration. This is how he first imagined his fragrance Le Classique, followed by La Belle and La Belle Eau de Parfum Intense. This new juice thus plunges us back into the designer's childhood emotions and memories. It recalls on its own Jean-Paul Gaultier's greatest creations, whether the fragrance Le Classique or certain fashion creations, such as the inimitable cone-breasted corset worn by Madonna.

The tempting world of La Belle Eau de Parfum Intense

The other undeniable strength of La Belle Eau de Parfum Intense is that it delivers, on its own, a world all its own. It immerses us in the garden of Eden imagined by Jean-Paul Gaultier. Here, temptation reigns supreme. However, the apple, the original forbidden fruit, is this time replaced by a pear. Jean-Paul Gaultier's man and woman move through an environment of pure pleasure. The message is clear: La Belle Eau de Parfum Intense wants nothing more than to make you give in to temptation!

La Belle Eau de Parfum Intense, a gourmand delight

In terms of scent, La Belle Eau de Parfum Intense draws inspiration from one of Jean-Paul Gaultier's greatest sins: indulgence. If the designer chose to give it a vanilla scent, it is because he is an absolute fan of the Dessert Grand Cru Vanille from Pâtisserie des Rêves, by the great pastry chef Philippe Conticini. And La Belle Eau de Parfum Intense unfolds exactly this same vanilla scent. For a lighter effect, it is accompanied by pears. Jasmine amplifies its femininity while tonka bean makes it more enveloping and comforting.

Jean-Paul Gaultier's infinitely feminine bottle

Of course, the bottle of La Belle Eau de Parfum Intense is another centerpiece of this creation. It takes the shape of a female bust, more modern than before. For the very first time, it is dressed in a gradient shifting from red to black. Finally, for an ultimate touch of refinement, a collar of gold flowers completes its spray cap.
