Thierry Wasser's heartfelt impulses: Floral Romantique

Each perfume in the Les Elixirs Charnels collection was designed to correspond to a different moment in a woman's love life. While Gourmand Coquin, Chypre Fatal and Oriental Brûlant all displayed unequivocal ambitions, Floral Romantique would rather be the perfume of the encounter, that moment when a woman lets herself be swept away by the whirlwind of absence and the need for the other. Floral Romantique would be the perfume used well before the three opuses by Sylvaine Delacourte and Christine Nagel!

An angelic alchemy, at once fresh, suave and warm for a dreamer with skin as delicate as flowers, is how Guerlain describes Floral Romantique.

Moreover, Floral Romantique, although developed with the involvement of Sylvaine Delacourte, was composed by Thierry Wasser. And Thierry Wasser only rarely uses gourmand accords, except to enhance other, quite different notes. As a result, although Floral Romantique belongs to the same collection as Gourmand Coquin, Chypre Fatal and Oriental Brûlant, it stands out through its luminous and opulent flowers far more than through its sweet notes.
Nevertheless, the fact that the soft Floral Romantique aims for delicacy does not mean it lacks character, quite the contrary!

Floral Romantique between the delicacy of white flowers and woody sensuality

Floral Romantique likes to stir confusion between icy freshness, floral sweetness and enigmatic woody warmth. Floral Romantique is therefore a perfume that one comes to recognize, touch and tame in order to better leave behind the delicious scent of memory; like the vast majority of Thierry Wasser's perfumes, Floral Romantique is contrasted and therefore unique.

Floral Romantique thus opens with a citrus cocktail composed of mandarin and petitgrain, enhanced by an aromatic touch of yerba mate. Then ylang-ylang, tiare flower, orange blossom and jasmine breathe their floral splendor over a spicy, peppery carnation. Yet lily comes to powder these generous and dynamic flowers. Finally, the strength of cedarwood and ambrette comes to wed the gourmand quality of chestnut and benzoin, the better to drift away in the swirls of smoky tea, leaving an air of mystery hovering over this Floral Romantique woman whom one longs to see again…
