Cool Elixir Safran Mineral is the men’s Parfum Intense that Davidoff launches in 2026 within its Cool Elixir collection. The house builds it around hand-harvested saffron, which it calls the red gold of spices, a cedarwood trio and a touch of crisp apple, and entrusts its image to Charles Melton.
Eddie Bulliqi, of Fragrantica, finds that Safran Mineral hits its target: a fruity, foggy fragrance in the spirit of Eros, lifted by a metallic gleam and burnt notes, over a milky base better handled than that of Cool Elixir.
What critics say
In the spirit of Eros
Eddie Bulliqi, a Fragrantica columnist, published his review on June 29, 2026. He likens Safran Mineral to Eros: a fruity, foggy fragrance, lifted by a dose of iron he considers on trend. In his view, Davidoff hit the target set by its own copy.
A recomposed saffron
He finds the saffron not very authentic, but grants it accents of leather, wood, prune and tea. The apple of the opening brings out the fruity facets of the saffron, and the woody ambery base fits the whole.
Metal and burn
What sets the fragrance apart, in his view, rests on metal and burn: a flinty gleam close to the one pink pepper gives, notes of roasted coffee and sun-dried hay. Vanilla and candied apple anchor it on the Eros side.
A tamed milky base
He finds again the milky base of Cool Elixir, which had bothered him in that first fragrance. Here, the ice cream effect seems coherent to him, with nothing cloying, and he imagines a coffee shop on a farm, among wood paneling, new steel, roasting and fruit pie.
