Patchouli, earthy and camphorous, accompanies a benzoin with accents of vanilla and caramel in the base of Tabu, beneath a heart of jasmine, ylang-ylang and Bulgarian rose. Created in 1932 for the house Dana by the perfumer Jean Carles, the Eau de Cologne belongs to the oriental family. Its name refers to Freud's book “Totem and Taboo.”

Citrus top

Bergamot opens the composition on a fruity note, slightly sweet and shot through with freshness. Lemon in turn provides a clean acidity and a tangy freshness, the bite associated with freshly pressed citrus zest.

Floral heart

Ylang-ylang delivers a surprising nail polish facet, softened by powder and fruit. Jasmine brings warmth, sweetness and a wild accent. Bulgarian rose completes the tier with an intense floral, nuanced with honey and fruity notes.

Earthy and balsamic base

Patchouli evokes damp earth with a camphorous edge. Benzoin, a balsamic resin, recalls vanilla, caramel and roasted almond. Musk brings woody, animalic and warm tones, and oakmoss extends the accord with its earthy, damp and mossy nuances.

An oriental family

The oriental accord rests on warm, resinous and vanilla-tinged materials: benzoin, with its accents of caramel and vanilla, joins the animalic warmth of musk and the earthy depth of patchouli, around which the base of Tabu is built.
