1881 Black is an eau de toilette for men from Cerruti, launched in 2006 and composed by Michel Girard. A variation on 1881, it draws on the warm, spicy atmosphere of an Italian evening: bitter orange, santolina and lavender in the opening, nutmeg and cumin at the heart, and a sweet woody base of agarwood, guaiac and marzipan.

Osmoz describes a voluptuous woody fragrance, lifted by Seville orange and santolina with lavender accents. Nutmeg and cumin give it its spicy character, before a sweet woody base of agarwood, guaiac wood and marzipan absolute.

Wikiparfum lists the same materials and adds black pepper and cedar; it ranks the perfume among the woody fragrances, with an ambery facet. Osmoz classes it among the oriental woody fragrances.

Several perfumeries publish a different list: bitter orange, pepper and lavender at the top, nutmeg, caraway and cedar at the heart, marzipan, oud and guaiac at the base. Caraway replaces cumin there.
