Pour Un Homme Renaissance is the eau de parfum that Caron added to the Pour Un Homme line in 2026. Lavender from the Drôme provençale keeps the link with the 1934 original, alongside clary sage, an oak wood accord and a base of roasted barley and balsam fir, which the house describes as warm and cereal-like.
Caron publishes a three-tier pyramid: enriched clary sage oil and lavender oil, both of French origin, in the top notes; an oak wood accord and Ambrofix in the heart; roasted barley extract and balsam fir resinoid in the base.
The house describes a lavender with a lively, floral freshness that rounds out into a balsamic note, and a clary sage that gives it relief. The oak wood gives body to the middle tier, which Ambrofix wraps in an amber warmth.
The roasted barley extract from Germany that forms the base draws on the craft of malting: Caron describes in it warm cereal, caramel, cocoa, soft tobacco and hay, with hints of vanilla. The balsam fir adds a resinous, balsamic depth.
The house arranges its materials around two poles: a sage side, bringing together lavender, clary sage and the oak wood accord, and a barley side, gathering roasted barley, balsam fir resinoid and Ambrofix.
What the label declares
After alcohol, fragrance and water, the label lists tetramethyl acetyloctahydronaphthalenes, a synthetic woody molecule, ahead of linalyl acetate, linalool and lavender oil. Coumarin and vanillin come right after.
Patchouli, which the published notes do not mention, also appears as an oil, as does sclareol, a constituent of clary sage. The list also declares two UV filters, ethylhexyl salicylate and diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, and a violet colorant, CI 60730.
