Est. 1856 is an eau de parfum by Burberry signed by Florian Gallo, released in 2026 in the Prorsum collection, created for the house’s 170th anniversary. Incense, cedar and a leather accord meet a Longjing tea accord. Its name refers to the year Burberry was founded, and the house evokes its first store, in Basingstoke. It sells for £175 for 50 ml in the United Kingdom.

The notes announced by the house, with no division into top, heart and base, bring together incense essential oil, cedarwood essential oil, a leather accord and a Longjing tea accord, the latter playing the role of the collection’s raker.

For Burberry, incense and cedar recall the weaving looms of the past: resinous smoke resting on dry, straight wood. The leather accord evokes the scent of the workshop and of artisanal work.

The Longjing tea brings an aromatic lift that brightens the woods and the leather, like the red thread in the house’s Check pattern.
