Cucumber Melon

In 1998, Bath & Body Works launched Cucumber Melon, a citrus composition created by Kari Arienti. Fresh green cucumber meets tangy grapefruit, sweet melon with aquatic accents, and a soft, almost creamy wood. Freshness and greenness set the tone of the accord, which the fruit rounds out with a gourmand note.

Composition

Heart notes

Cucumber brings a fresh greenness, that of crisp, thirst-quenching flesh. Grapefruit adds its citrus character, both fruity and lively. Melon, sweet, takes on an aquatic impression, while wood slips a creamy softness into the accord that tempers the brightness of the fruit.

Citrus family

The term citrus refers to the mythological garden of the Hesperides and its golden apples, an ancient image of citrus fruits. In Cucumber Melon, it is grapefruit that carries this family, with its fresh, slightly bitter zest, supported by the green freshness of cucumber.

What the label declares

Two odorant components appear among the ingredients: limonene, abundantly present in citrus peels such as grapefruit, and linalool, a floral and slightly woody molecule found in lavender or bergamot. The list also mentions UV filters.
