The house of Thierry Mugler has, since its beginnings in haute couture, been a name synonymous with originality, even avowed avant-gardism. With its very first perfume, Angel, the reputation of the man and his house did not falter — quite the contrary, Angel revolutionized modern perfumery! A few years later, Alien Eau de Parfum followed this same path strewn with success. With Alien Eau de Toilette playing with light to dazzle us all the more, it is clear that Dominique Ropion and Thierry Mugler had found the key to the stars!

How does one launch a new fragrant saga when an absolute bestseller has already been offered a few years earlier? How does one avoid repeating oneself, or worse, composing a perfume that would be generic and thus not measure up to an Angel that upended every trend and olfactory current in its wake? Such was the wager taken by Thierry Mugler and Dominique Ropion in composing a new perfume. And with Alien Eau de Parfum released in 2005, the least one can say is that the two men managed to meet this considerable challenge by offering the originality of a Thierry Mugler perfume without falling into the gourmand accents of an Angel composed 13 years earlier.
In any case, it is not a gourmand. I added a trace of lactone (editor's note: readers are invited to read the article devoted to lactones a few years ago) but only to accompany the jasmine, not at all to create a fruity effect. In 2009, and after two lovely summer flankers of this extraterrestrial of perfumery, Dominique Ropion once again drew the luminous and carnal contours of the Alien woman, giving her a more airy and more sun-kissed concentration with Alien Eau de Toilette.

Alien Eau de Toilette is, along with Alien Eau Extraordinaire released in 2014, among the lightest concentrations that master Dominique Ropion has been able to offer for his Alien. However, this in no way prevents the discovery, in this airier version, of the construction in three “faces,” three facets, typical of the lovely Alien originally born in 2005.
Thus for this Alien Eau de Toilette, the citrus top notes are beautifully reinforced by mandarin and citrus notes. Then at the heart, the fabulous Sambac jasmine remains, but its sun-kissed and opulent facets are amplified in this eau de toilette by white flower notes. Finally, the woody delicacy of cashmere wood becomes an enveloping velvet, like the sun's rays, thanks to white amber notes.
