A London Dandy, also sold as The Dandy, is a unisex Eau de Parfum launched in 2024 by Penhaligon’s. Evoking a speakeasy at midnight, cocktails and brass, it combines rum and raspberry in the top notes, dried fruits and malted whisky in the heart — the latter announced by the house but not represented in the official pyramid — over a base of cedar, oak, patchouli and amber.
Rum, spiced with cinnamon and ginger, and raspberry, sweet and tart, occupy the top on two opposing registers, one spicy and warm, the other bright and fruity.
Dried fruits mark the heart, between dried fruit and tobacco.
Cedar and oak, both woody, frame patchouli, earthy and damp, in the base; the pencil-shaving quality of the cedar and the smokiness of the oak stand apart despite this shared wood.
