Changing Constance
Changing Constance is a fragrance from Penhaligon’s Portraits collection, released in 2018. It gives voice to Constance, Lady Blanche’s sister, a modern woman who ignores convention. The house builds it on contrasts: cool cardamom and allspice, a salted butter caramel, and a base of vanilla, cashmeran and tobacco.

Where to buy
Changing Constance was released in 2018 in Portraits, the collection in which Penhaligon’s gives each fragrance the portrait of a character. Announced in June 2018, it was first sold at Harrods, as a 75 ml eau de parfum.
Constance, her own heroine
The house makes Constance the sister of Lady Blanche, with the opposite view of the social order: a modern woman who ignores convention, works, wears trousers and wants to play a role in society. Her motto fits in one sentence: be your own heroine.
Penhaligon’s places her among the intellectuals and rebels, a member of the Women’s Pioneer Housing, busy rewriting society’s rules over a cup of tea. The house says the fragrance is made for a modern woman who has no regard for rules.
