Changing Constance is a fragrance from Penhaligon’s Portraits collection, released in 2018. It gives voice to Constance, Lady Blanche’s sister, a modern woman who ignores convention. The house builds it on contrasts: cool cardamom and allspice, a salted butter caramel, and a base of vanilla, cashmeran and tobacco.
The cylindrical bottle of the Portraits collection, with an amber juice, topped with a gold stopper shaped like the head of a long-horned animal.
Changing Constance comes in the Portraits collection bottle: a clear glass cylinder with rounded shoulders, on a thick base, that reveals an amber brown juice. The label bears the words Portraits, Penhaligon’s and Changing Constance.
In the product photographs, a gold collar supports the stopper, an animal head in polished gold metal with long straight horns. The house offers the fragrance in a 75 ml bottle.
