Star Oud is the fifth eau de parfum in the Montblanc Collection, released in 2025 and signed by Gaël Montero. Montblanc presents it as a woody amber built on an oud accord: a fresh cardamom and mineral spices at the opening, a heart of guaiac wood, vetiver and sandalwood, a base where the oud appears alone.
Cardamom and mineral spices
The opening belongs to cardamom, a green spice that Montblanc wants fresh and refined. The house adds to it what it calls mineral spices, a dry, stony coldness that lights up the woody structure without adding anything sweet to it.
Guaiac wood, vetiver, sandalwood
The heart brings together three woods: guaiac, smoky and resinous, vetiver, earthy and root-like, sandalwood, milky. Montblanc entrusts them with deepening the fragrance before the oud accord appears.
Oud accord
The base rests on an oud accord that the house calls majestic, dark and resinous woody. Cinnamon accompanies it, sweet and spicy, giving the woody accord the roundness that makes it wearable daily.
What the label declares
The label declares coumarin, the scent of cut hay and almond, cinnamal, which carries the scent of cinnamon, and alpha-isomethyl ionone, a powdery violet that the announced accord does not mention. Limonene completes the listed allergens.
Four colorants, one yellow, two reds and a violet, give the juice its dark hue. Two UV filters and a stabilizing citrate protect it from light, and none of the three contributes to the scent.
