REPLICA Lost Eden

Published

REPLICA Lost Eden is Maison Margiela’s eau de parfum on the theme of the forbidden fruit, composed by Honorine Blanc for the REPLICA Fantasies collection in 2026. A candied red apple opens the fragrance, an infusion of vanilla fills the heart and a smoky oud accord closes it, in a weighted glass bottle finished in graduated black lacquer.

The fragrance has three tiers, which the house names one by one: a candied red apple accord at the top, an infusion of vanilla in the heart, a smoky oud accord at the base.

From fruit to smoke

Candied red apple opens the fragrance. The house gives it a juicy, almost liqueur-like effect, like the first spark of desire that teases the mind. The apple, it recalls, has symbolized temptation for millennia, and it is what gives Lost Eden its vibrancy and appeal.

Vanilla occupies the heart, as an infusion that the house calls addictive, sensual and gourmand. It replays the sweetness of hesitation evoked by the Forbidden Fruit accord.

The smoky oud accord anchors the fragrance. The house sees in it the idea of a shelter, a smoky, woody note that evokes the fantasy of a mystical, mysterious garden. This dark base stands against the gourmand sweetness of the heart: it is this contrast that the house highlights by placing Lost Eden among the woody gourmands.

What the label declares

Alcohol, fragrance and water open the list, ahead of tetramethyl acetyloctahydronaphthalenes, an ambery wood, vanillin and patchouli oil. Diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, a UV filter, pinene and an antioxidant, pentaerythrityl tetra-di-t-butyl hydroxyhydrocinnamate, also appear among the first ingredients.

Carvone, citronellol, coumarin, limonene and beta-caryophyllene are also listed, along with cinnamon bark oil, rose ketones, cinnamal and terpinolene. Benzyl benzoate, tris(tetramethylhydroxypiperidinol) citrate, benzyl alcohol, alpha-terpinene, isoeugenol and linalool complete the series.

Three colorants close the list: CI 14700, CI 17200 and CI 19140.
