REPLICA Ideal One is a unisex eau de parfum by Maison Margiela, launched in 2025 in the REPLICA Fantasies collection and composed by Christophe Raynaud. Built on a skin fusion accord that tells of meeting a dream partner, it pairs elemi, orange and Calabrian bergamot, orange blossom and lavender, over a base of vanilla, guaiac wood, styrax and skin musk.
Maison Margiela divides Ideal One into three tiers: elemi essence, orange essence and Calabrian bergamot in the top; an orange blossom accord and lavender heart in the heart; a vanilla infusion, guaiac wood essence, styrax and a skin musk in the base.
Christophe Raynaud chose the bare bark of guaiac wood to portray the meeting of two beings, with a smoky, leathery, almost burnt facet. His Skin Fusion accord aims to evoke two skins merging into a single one; the vanilla infusion brings an ambery, gourmand warmth, and the musk, synthetic, imitates the natural scent of skin.
What the label declares
The list published by the house opens with alcohol, fragrance and water. It declares one UV filter, methyl anthranilate and regulated allergens, limonene, linalool, citral and isoeugenol, as well as three colorants, orange, red and violet.
