L'Instant Homme

L'Instant pour Homme When Guerlain suspends time Created in 2003, L'Instant by Guerlain paid tribute to those fleeting yet intense moments capable of transforming a life. This first took the form of a concentrate of white flowers intended for women.

Released in 2004, one year after its feminine counterpart, L’Instant pour Homme is the fragrance for men who savor the present moment. With this sensual and delicate fragrance, the house of Guerlain sought to reconnect with its expertise, but also with values close to its heart. Here, prestigious raw materials swirl harmoniously together. Prestige and seduction thus take center stage for a woody masculine fragrance, rich and luminous. A composition signed Béatrice Piquet.

A great lady for a great masculine olfactory composition

It was to the highly talented Béatrice Piquet that the house of Guerlain entrusted the composition of this very particular essence. Béatrice Piquet graduated from the prestigious perfumery school ISIPCA at just 17 years old. Upon graduating, she joined the house of IFF (International Flavors and Fragrances), where she would remain for her entire career. In 2007, Béatrice Piquet was promoted to Senior Perfumer. Béatrice Piquet was regarded as a perfumer as talented as she was discreet. She unfortunately passed away in 2010 at the age of 46. She left behind magnificent fragrances, such as Lady Million by Paco Rabanne and Deep Red by Hugo Boss. Upon her death, Nicolas Mirzayantz, President of the IFF group, stated: The fragrance community has lost a major force…

L’Instant pour Homme by Guerlain, sensuality above all

Béatrice Piquet wanted from the outset to establish a striking composition. But be careful, L’Instant pour Homme has a big heart and infinite tenderness, even if the latter is not immediately perceptible. L’Instant pour Homme opens with a vivacity from lemon and bergamot. These citrus freshnesses are heightened by much spicier notes, namely those of star anise, elemi and pepper… An opening that lacks neither intensity nor character! The heart of L’Instant pour Homme then evolves toward the floral, luminous tonality of jasmine, which pairs with lapsang tea and Mysore sandalwood. Lapsang tea is a smoky black tea that comes from China, more specifically from the Wu Yi Shan mountains. Lapsang tea features large leaves as well as an intense black color similar to that of charcoal. Tea is a widely used ingredient in perfumery. Depending on its color and variety, tea gives off different characteristics. Lapsang tea offers deep, powerful tonalities. Both smoky and damp, lapsang tea enhances the other notes. Finally, the base of L’Instant pour Homme ends in a sillage as elegant as it is sensual, thanks to the presence of patchouli and hibiscus seed.

An ultra-elegant composition for sensual men. One year after the feminine version, Guerlain entrusted Béatrice Piquet with creating L’Instant pour Homme… One of the finest achievements of the house of Guerlain.
