Béatrice Piquet

In 2010, the entire perfumery world was in mourning. Indeed, the perfumer Béatrice Piquet passed away that year, on March 2, at the age of 46, following a long illness. The great family of perfumers thus lost one of its most talented members, and there is no doubt that Béatrice Piquet left behind an immense void but also numerous masterpieces.

Béatrice Piquet's career

Béatrice Piquet was a discreet woman who became, over time, an emblematic figure of contemporary perfumery. She began her training at one of the most prestigious perfumery schools, the ISIPCA in Paris. More precisely, this is the institut supérieur du parfum, de la cosmétique et de l'aromatique alimentaire. It is located in Versailles and has seen the emergence of the greatest names in perfumery today. As such, Béatrice Piquet graduated from it very young, at barely 17 years old. From there, she was hired by International Flavors & Fragrances, one of the giants of the current olfactory sector, better known as IFF. Although she started there as an apprentice, her talent allowed her to gradually climb every rung until she was promoted, in 2007, to Senior Perfumer.

Béatrice Piquet's greatest perfumes

It was for the house Hugo Boss that Béatrice Piquet created her first major work. Indeed, she is behind the famous Hugo Dark Blue. Moreover, even though this perfume was not her first composition, it was the one that truly launched her career. From then on, Béatrice Piquet collaborated with the greatest houses, creating for example Cumbia Colors Woman for Benetton, Rythm for Burberry, Rose Essentielle for Bvlgari, Cerruti 1881 Eau d'Eté, Dior Etoile, Eau Floral for Christian Lacroix, Echo and Cool Water Game for Davidoff, Emporio Armani Nuit for Armani, L'instant de Guerlain pour Homme, and also Commedia for Lalique. Nevertheless, it was for Paco Rabanne that Béatrice Piquet undoubtedly signed her most famous creation. Moreover, we owe the iconic Lady Million to her.

Although Béatrice Piquet is no longer among us today, there is no doubt that her name will remain in the history of perfumery and that her works will carry on her legacy for many years to come.
